Glass Rotameter

Glass rotameter (hereinafter referred to as flowmeter) is one of the instruments used to measure the flow of non-turbid liquid, gas and other single-phase media. The measuring part of the instrument consists of a vertically mounted glass cone tube and a float inside the tube. The large end of the cone is upward, and the float moves up and down along the cone axis with the flow rate. When the fluid passes through the cone from bottom to top, due to the action of the fluid, a differential pressure is generated on the upper and lower end faces of the float, and the float rises under the action of this differential pressure. When the rising force acting on the float is equal to the combined force of gravity, buoyancy and viscosity on the float, the float is stable at a certain height. At this time, the height of the float in the cone corresponds to the flow rate passed. This height is a measure of the amount of traffic.
